• Managed a value improvement project involving component qualifications, changing cleaning methods at the supplier, and process development and validation of a laser welding process and the associated leak detection process for the battery feedthru in order to insource the processes from a supplier (Savings of over $1 Million annually).• Consulted 5 new engineers on the current equipment, software and process validation procedures and sequence of the process.• Improved the yield of a laser weld process from 98% to 99.7% through fixture set-up and maintenance procedures, and product builder training developed from root cause analysis with the product builders and technicians.• Assisted in the validation of an automated robotic system for the cathode tab attach process in capacitor production to address a capacity constraint on a new product line.• Validated a laser system for the backfill plug weld process in capacitor production to address a capacity constraint on a new product line.• Developed and validated a laser / leak test system for the seam weld / leak test process in battery production to address a capacity constraint on a new product line.• Developed and validated a new laser marking system for laser marking traveler numbers (2D data matrix and human readable) directly on the surface of the printed circuit boards and panel. Redesigned multiple PCBs for multiple devices to accomodate the necessary marking space on the circuits for the traceability information.• Cross-Validated the pre-bake and underfill cure processes for additional products to address the needs of flexibility and risk mitigation.

• Managed the budget for both the Perma-Shield Gliding Patio Door (fabrication & assembly) and Home Depot door kitting cost centers in the Patio Door Plant.• Supported and co-led the Total Productive Maintenance effort in Perma-Shield Gliding Patio Door fabrication and was the first cost center to achieve checkpoint 1 at the Bayport facility. • Received customer service awards two years in a row for having the 2nd fewest backorders and multiple backorders across the enterprise.• Assisted in the implementation of a new packing station and two new bead application stations in order to improve the Humantech scores by 60%. • Improved the profitability of the Perma-Shield Gliding Patio Door cost center through Heijunka (production leveling) and elimination of the “seven wastes” of Lean Manufacturing. We finished the year 11% favorable to budget without the assistance of any major capital projects.• Facilitated and participated in Kaizens to encourage a culture of continuous improvement.• Mentored two team leads into future Value Stream Supervisors.• Created a Vinyl Extrusion Apprentice position to establish a career development process in the extrusion operation.• Assisted in the implementation of the Supermarket delivery system. Continuously making improvements on Kanban cards, proper part picking, supermarket inventory levels, and line-side parts presentation.

• Managed a cross-functional team that increased production by 43% by reducing non-value added material handling utilizing Creform carts and a standardized supermarket tugger route.• Implemented three new automated vinyl sheet slitter systems that improved the change-over time by 80%, reduced scrap by 90%, and also significantly reduced the risk of injury and operator intervention.• Coordinated process improvement projects in milling, Transco line extrusion, solid line extrusion, and mitre ramming.• Utilized Lean tools such as Value Stream mapping and PDCAs (Plan-Do-Check-Act) in order to create consistent communication across the team.• Relocated the salvage saw and moulder/stripper machine into a work cell using Lean Manufacturing principles.• Designed floor layouts on AutoCAD 2000 and demonstrated work center flow through PowerPoint animation.

• Redesigned the casement/awning hardware machines resulting in a $400K annual savings in field service costs.• Designed machinery for the fabrication and assembly of casement/awning windows (hinge/rotation machine, lock easel machine, glass lay machine, weather-strip application machine, extrusion in-feed conveyor, vacuum former lift tables, and misc. redesigns)• Designed machinery with a focus on safety/ergonomics, quick change-over, simplicity, reliability, and ease of maintenance.• Coordinated efforts with outside vendors to fabricate, build, and assemble machinery.• Modeled assembly and fabricated part prints of machinery on Mechanical Desktop 6.0.• Documented fabricated parts lists and purchased parts lists.• Coordinated efforts with maintenance personnel to inventory machine parts that posed a risk of substantial downtime.• Assisted in the development of a standardized machine parts list among the Design Team for ease of maintenance and the simplification of parts inventory in central stores.• Prioritized and scheduled design projects/work orders with the Casement Team.
