Everglades Electric Supply Company (Everglades) is a privately owned company with Ronnie and Leesa Martin as sole stock holders. Everglades was established in 1971 by Ronnie Martin. Ronnie had spent 5 years in the area of sales and technical training with General Electric Supply when he made that giant leap of faith and Everglades Electric Supply was born. The business grew steadily and in 1979 the first satellite store was opened in Tamarac Florida. The business continued to grow during the 80's and the company computerized all operations in 1989 in an effort to remain on the cutting edge of Electrical Supply distribution while outpacing the competition. During the 90's the company experience dramatic growth, under the direction of the Martin team, and acquired considerable adjacent commercial properties in close proximity to Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale Florida. Everglades currently enjoys being the only independently owned electrical distributor located in East Fort Lauderdale. Everglades occupies 20,000 square feet in a modern warehouse facility with another 26,000 square feet available expansion and other commercial ventures.In 2004 Leesa Martin began to explore expansion out of state. Murphy North Carolina was to be the home of her independently owned division of Everglades Electric Supply. The grand opening for this latest milestone of expansion occurred September 15th, 2007 Everglades is well known for its counter sales, well rounded diversified inventory, and customer service. Everglades is also well known for its stock of obsolete and unavailable products. The company is managed by the Martin team and consists of 10 full time employees that have a combined 146 years of experience in the electrical trade. Long term success has been achieved by staying focused on product knowledge, maintaining massive inventories of current and hard to acquire items and providing "Old Fashioned Service Since 1971."
