I left the W2 world in 1999, cashed out my 401K, and plotted a new entrepreneurial-oriented retirement plan. With precision focus, my preparation and goals centered around the huge home runs I'd hit at this precise stage of my career. I stayed the course and ultimately followed through on a strategy built over two decades of real-world education. Operations/Practice Management Systems cover every aspect of a business, so I focused on providing SaaS-centric management platforms for various verticals. More than just architecting back-end systems, I gained broad expertise in the various industries I served. These ventures have included FinTech (lending/collections), e-Learning (mentoring, course development and full accreditation), Direct Sales (30+ businesses in 80+ countries), e-Assessments (partnership with KPMG), Practice Management (addiction recovery), Solar Sales (SunEdison), Consumer Reviews (medical fields), customer engagement tools (many) and a deep passion for nurturing CSR and Dev teams. Along with an exceptional co-Founder (and childhood best-friend), MAN+MACHINE represents the culmination of our vast collective experience. After 2+ years of tireless dedication, I couldn't be more proud of our highly talented team, who understand that true value is delivered through creative innovation and wherewithal. The foundation of our company-culture is built on "Continual Improvement" methodologies, and we infuse these strategic practices into everything we do. The proven disciplines of Kaizen (The Japanese term for "continual improvement" used by Toyota, Canon, Honda and many others) drives a steady ascension within our internal operations, and delivers demonstrable results for the businesses we serve. Our commitment to these principles means that our journey, and that of our clients, employees and partners, is on a trajectory with no bounds.https://kaizeninfusion.com/Kaizen Infusion Pitch Deck.pptxhttps://kaizeninfusion.com/Man + Machine RevTech Overview.pdf

PartnerOrb 6 Software 2005 - 2007Springville, UtahFusion Group Consulting morphed into Orb 6 software when the opportunity came knocking to build an industry best platform to run and manage every aspect of a network marketing operation. That opportunity came from Ash Capitol funded Agel Enterprises. They were told it couldn't be done, but their founder and CEO thought different. Launch in 12 countries and expand into over 50 countries in the first year of operation. My role was mostly project management in preparation for the official launch, and running the executive meetings each week. I learned that our technology had to touch almost every aspect of the business, and I had to work closely with every member of the executive team to reach deadlines that didn't seem possible. My experience with KPMG prepared me for the human element and risks inherent to such a lofty endeavor. There were a number of key factors that required emphasis, but one that is most important and all encompassing. Aligning expectations is a long standing buzz phrase, but it means everything. And the expectations had to be detailed in their accuracy and clearly understood by all parties. I can geek it up with the best of the technology nerds and feel completely in my element working closely with executive teams in areas of operations, strategy, and defining system specifications. I usually architect these systems and play a primary role in developing them. I expect to be held accountable by the executives and I care a lot about my quality of life. Thus, failure isn't one of the options.Lacking these balances is usually why software development projects and technology implementations fail. I don't allow either to happen on my watch, and I ensure that the nerds always fully understand the project specifications that match the desired direction of the rain makers. That's where magic happens and the waltz begins.

PartnerFusion Group Consulting Jul 1999 - Jan 2005Provo, Utah AreaHaving worked at a start-up where I cut my teeth on software development, I learned to love the start-up environment, and limited bureaucracy. When we were purchased by Equifax, that all changed, so our three person development team gave our two week notice in July of 1999, and we never looked back. Our initial contracts were open projects with Equifax, and our first client we were responsible for securing was KPMG, and that turned into a 3+ year contract. I was very fortunate to begin my foray into the world of entrepreneurship with a very successful and sustainable partnership with one of the (at the time) Big 6 Accounting firms. The value of that relationship went far beyond its' stability and success. We jointly developed a suite of assessment tools that were used with the who's who of Corporate America. It's amazing what you learn about corporate dysfunction at the very top, and better understand the reasons behind their success. In almost every case, a variation of the 80/20 rules applied. We found 80% of dysfunction was caused by 20% of their workforce, and 80% of the productivity and success came from the 20% who were the organization's super stars. The in-depth analysis of each 360 assessment was absolutely fascinating, and prepared me very well to successfully run my business, and help my clients more successfully run theirs, for many years to come.
