Greetings! I am a former teacher for Metro Nashville Public Schools and I am looking for opportunities outside of teaching. I spent 7 years working with MNPS as a substitute teacher and a full-time 8th Grade Science Teacher at John F. Kennedy Middle School in Antioch, TN. I was rated a level 4 teacher in 21/22 and a level 5 teacher in the 22/23 school year. I was trusted with leading several professional development days for my school and even one for four schools for 8th grade science. I created my own curriculum based around the MNPS virtual school for 8th grade science in 20/21 school year due to the pandemic and saw tremendous success from my students in preparation for TN Ready. In 22/23, my student's scores increased by 10% from the previous year. Most of my instruction was influenced by data from summative assessments. I focused on reaching students of all skill levels by using visual, audial, and kinesthetic learning.My presentation style is influenced by over 20 years of acting experience. I have worked professionally as an actor on and off for close to 10 of those years. Memorization, preparation, and love for the material is important to me.I am a team player. I love helping out my colleagues with any troubleshooting issues they might have, whether that might be technology or any other issue. Because of my teaching background, I am very comfortable with using Powerpoint, Word, and Excel. I used Excel to track data for my students on how they did on summative assessments based around TN Ready questions. I used Powerpoint for the majority of my lessons. I love storytelling and creative writing as well. I have written several original plays, skits, and one man shows.
