-Recruited, trained, scheduled, and managed up to 30 staff members for the daily care and training of dolphins, sea lions, penguins, seals, and otters for interaction programs. -Acted as Manager-on-Duty in General Manager’s absence, managing 60-80 employees, overseeing park operations, and maintaining a high standard of visitor experience.-Created innovative animal interaction programs designed to exceed the expectations of visitors, including both high and low end price point options, reaching a wider range of client base along with providing variability for repeat guests. These programs contributed to over 50% of total revenue of the company. -Integral in the development and execution of facility’s master plan including animal management and financial goals, both short & long term. -Organized professional development opportunities, taught principles of effective teamwork, yielding a very low staff turnover rate. Wrote and conducted yearly performance appraisals and mentored senior staff on the process to do so. -Facilitated accreditation by the Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks & Aquariums and the International Marine Animal Trainers’ Association.-Initiated collaboration with other marine animal facilities for trainer exchanges, animal care, and training theory.-Organized and led cross-country animal transports via air and land and maintained creative exhibit design & maintenance.
