About Chad Dolan
I am currently a visiting instructor in the Department of Exercise Science and Health Promotion at Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton, FL.). I am also studying Dietetics and Nutrition at the Florida International University (Miami, FL). My current research aim is to identify mediators of marketing campaigns then apply them to nutrition education.I earned a B.S. and M.S. in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from Florida Atlantic University (2010-2015, Boca Raton, FL.). I completed projects in the FAU Skeletal Muscle Physiology Lab. My research specialization was comparing various training programs to try and optimize performance. I also completed a 400+ hour internship as a strength coach with the 21 teams at FAU. I began coaching and training the FAU powerlifting team while also competing. I passed the USAPL State level referee exam, while also conducting over 1000 hours of max strength testing in a research lab. In 2014 I began consulting as a strength and conditioning coach and sports nutritionist remotely through Myogenic Training Systems LLC, while also working with other companies such as Shredded by Science, De Novo Nutrition, Reactive Training Systems, BioLayne, and The Strength Guys. I have also been a fitness industry seminar presenter, writer, content creator, and podcast guest.

Exercise leadership can be described as the physiological understanding of exercise adaptations across the bodily systems and the practical application of this knowledge as a practitioner. This includes understanding the aerobic energy system, assessment/evaluation techniques, program design, exercise participation, and leadership roles for various types of exercise styles/programs. HSC 4139 Weight Management is delivered online. This course examines the different aspects of weight management. Weight loss and weight gain methods are discussed and insight is provided into the healthy approach of weight loss and weight gain. A variety of commercial diets are explored and critiqued.

This course was a hybrid class that features online material and objectives as well practical classroom sessions. The objective of this course was to expose the students to various physiological tests, data collection methods and analysis. The students would then demonstrate their ability to prescribe exercise training interventions to improve a component of physical fitness based on their test results. I was an assistant instructor to an undergraduate course titled: Foundations to Kinesiology (KIN1352). This course was also a hybrid class. Students were responsible for online learning material and objectives as well as practical classroom sessions. This course is an overview and introduction into the field of kinesiology. The practical laboratory sessions were less technical than KIN4370 despite similar tests and methods being used.

We supervised and trained students to deliver walking interventions for cardiorespiratory health as well as a strength training interventions to community dwelling seniors.I frequently guest lectured for other core undergraduate courses in the ESHP curriculum including: Advanced Methods of Strength and Conditioning (PET4138), Kinesiology (PET4330), Nutrition in Health and Exercise (PET3361). I also demonstrated laboratory techniques (ultrasound measuring muscular thickness) to the graduate students of Exercise Science Lab Methods (PET5521) during a guest lecture with my major professor.I was nominated for the Exercise Science and Health Promotion Department's Outstanding Graduate Assistant Award at the end of my first year, and awarded at the end of my second year.
