    Sr Director Of Technology
Tbc Corporation May 2016 - Present
    Palm Beach Gardens, Fl, Us
TBC Corporation decided to build a new e-commerce company from the ground up focused on direct to consumer tire sales with a supporting installer network. In this role I was tasked as the IT leader responsible for managing all aspects of the supporting technologies that would support the new business. This included a new digital platform made up of a PIM (IBM PIM), Middleware (IBM ACES), Order Management System (Sterling OMS), E-commerce platform (Oracle Commerce On-Prim), Experience Manager (Oracle XM), and other supporting systems. I was also responsible for the design & UX efforts around the creation of the new responsive front-end e-commerce site. I responsible for managing the budgets and multiple vendors both on-shore and off-shore that were contracted to build out the solutions. Another important goal was staying aligned with the President of Tire America to make sure all the technologies being built were well aligned with business goals being developed at the same time. This was a very exciting and fun initiative that created a rewarding experience for my professional career.

    Sr Director Of Digital Technology
    Tbc Corporation Sep 2013 - May 2016
    Palm Beach Gardens, Fl, Us
This roll returned me to the IT organization reporting into the CIO. My responsibilities were expanded to management of the middle-ware and all digital/omni-channel assets. These included all B2C, B2B, mobile, extranets, intranets, marketplaces, and the corporate POS. During this time I was tasked with and successfully accomplished 3 major initiatives. The first was the re-architecture of our middle-ware stack which included IBM IIB, DataPower, eXtreme Scale, and SAP PI/PO. The environment wasn't scaling well and was unstable. The new environment better supports reporting (proactive notification), redundancy, and scalability. An enterprise API Management studio is now being built on top of it to better support both internal and external future development. The second initiative was the re-architecture of our commerce environment. We upgraded the environment to the latest Oracle Commerce version, converted from ATG Search to Endeca, migrated from JBoss to WebLogic, migrated data centers, rolled out a new REST services layer, and create a new UI/UX on top of the REST layer which supported responsive/adaptive design. This project has resulted in higher conversion rates for the business, and the ability to quickly bring new web assets to market after decoupling the user experience from the back-end. The third major initiative was the support of a 1/3/5 year road-map build out for IT. I focused specifically on digital & omni-channels. The results from this drove the definition of a new digital enterprise architecture which will support all future digital assets. This new architecture focused on the full end-to-end commerce experience. The usage of integrated technologies like a PIM, OMS, commerce engine, payment gateway, enterprise search, etc. will allow for a robust and smooth commerce experience. The new environment will allow us to quickly and repeatably create a seamless and easily supported future digital products with reduced true cost of ownership.

  • Tbc Corporation
    Director Of Architecture - Web & E-Commerce
    Tbc Corporation Dec 2010 - Apr 2013
    Palm Beach Gardens, Fl, Us
As Director of Architecture for web & e-commerce I was tasked with assessing all web & e-commerce assets for a larger strategic and corporate perspective. This role called for me to look at the technical and business requirements across all applications versus each individual project and application. I sought to better understand all our corporate data, systems, and processes to begin creating a roadmap which would create a better end to end experience. I reviewed our corporate data weaknesses and presented these weaknesses to our executives so that projects could be defined to improve our data thus improving our time to market, software function capabilities, consumer information, and more. My mission was to show the importance of data to all aspects of our business and that all development and decisions should start with the data. I also began reviewing the transportation of data across our web systems and the level of integration between those systems and other systems within the enterprise. Major Project (ATG E-Commerce): On top of my architecture job duties, I was also tasked with leading the development and rollout of our first corporate consumer e-commerce solution. I was tasked with the business analysis and technical management of this 2 year $4 million project. In conjunction with the web & e-commerce executive management, we reviewed all available e-commerce platforms, cost of ownership, and functionality. ATG Commerce was chosen as our software package and an implementation partner was selected. I then lead the gathering of business requirements, selection of third party integration and their implementation, worked with the business to adjust business processes to better work with an e-commerce business model, integrated core back-end systems, mitigated the lack of required corporate services and data, and managed the budget. The project finished just a few weeks delayed and on budget and has more than exceeded its original estimated return.
  • Tbc Corporation
    It Manager Of Web Development
    Tbc Corporation Nov 2006 - Dec 2010
    Palm Beach Gardens, Fl, Us
I was promoted from the position of corporate webmaster to IT Manager of Web Development in August of 2006. TBC Corporation made a decision to move towards a shared services model with IT, Accounting, HR, Legal, and Purchasing for all corporate owned subsidiaries. The IT Manager of Web Development position was created to manage all websites, portals, intranets, extranets, and web personnel corporate wide. Some of the first tasks that were placed on me were to hire personnel to meet website development needs, outlining a roadmap to get all websites under the same standards and languages, and centralizing all website hosting to a new corporate data center which was being built. There were also many outstanding projects that needed to be built or completed. Many of the current websites for other subsidiaries had also been contracted out over the years, were unreliable and needed to be stabilized.Core Job functions included employee management, project management, business analysis, and assisting with programming. The department grew to 5 personnel and was developing and managing approximately 51 different projects for 8 different companies.Major Projects (B2B .NET C#/MSSQL Online Order System) Along with members of my development team, I wrote a c# .NET based online ordering system for our wholesale business. The software was designed to create a fast way for mom and pop retail shops to view available inventory, view prices, view promotions, submit orders, check order history, view reports, and manage their own user accounts. This software has been through many enhancements since its original design with features such as retail markup, quotes, filters & facets, core product sheets, etc. being added. It is integrated directly into our core JDE/DB2 system allowing for real time data. The software today brings in over $5 million a week in business.

Corporate Webmaster - Web Designer / Developer
    Tbc Corporation Nov 2003 - Nov 2006
    Palm Beach Gardens, Fl, Us
I was hired as the first webmaster for TBC. I was tasked with creating a stronger web presence and revamping B2B sites. These sites had been contracted for years and weren’t meeting performance or functional expectations. I worked with the contract company to bring all corporate websites in-house. I then worked to redesign and reprogram all products.Major Project (ASP/MSSQL B2B Online Ordering System): I completed the redesign and rebuild of the company’s B2B ordering software which took the company’s active customer usage from under 10% to ~80%. In the first year the software handled over 7000 orders from its previous years 100. The software consisted of over 50 stored procedures and 50,000 lines of code. (ASP, ADO, dHTML, SQL, VBScript, JavaScript, CSS). The new software performed 200% faster than the old software on dial-up connections. This was done by compressing all images for optimal size, rewriting stored procedures, and optimizing databases. The system also had claim processing and reporting.Major Project (ASP/MSSQL Employee & Manager Self-Serve): I created an HR tool to create paperless employee management for around 1000 retail locations. The software was built directly on top of our ABRA HR software. The success of the software was heard of by ABRA and they sent personnel to meet and review what had been built. They were working on a system just like it for all their customers and weren’t getting the same performance as our software. This project saved the company ~$1 million and cost about $50k to build.Other Projects: Creation of an authentication software that could be used corporate wide across all websites creating a single login point for all applications, redesign of 6 private label tire consumer websites, and rebuild of the existing intranet/extranet/treasury websites. All projects met and surpassed the new strict security and process requirements implemented by SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) in 2004 without having to make any changes.
