■ Seasoned designer with 25 years of experience doing both graphic design and art direction across a wide variety of projects, in both apparel and print - t-shirt graphics, logos & logo marks, branding and identity, cut & sew (trims, patches), all-over prints & patterns, music packaging, ads, flyers, hats & accessories, website design, handmade photocopied fanzines, stickers, and much more - all in a wide range of styles and applications.● Twenty years of that experience has been in the streetwear and action sports worlds. Mostly design for apparel (specifically t-shirt graphics), but definitely not limited to that. Have also done all other apparel-related graphics for trims, patches, all-over patterns & repeats, appliqués, sock graphics, and so on. For tee graphics, I have done regular seasonal lines, artist capsules, SMU requests, direct-to-consumer packs, seasonal capsules and full collaborations/licensing projects. I have designed hundreds of t-shirts, some selling thousands of units each. My designs are consistently best sellers and usually end up carrying the seasonal lines.▲ Able to give direction or take from others, can work from creative briefs or generate own. Excel at getting the overall “vibe” of a project – understand branding/theming to develop a naturally cohesive design language (look & feel) for a project which conveys a clear concept, or tells a consistent story across multiple applications. The goal is: the design must always be visually appealing and sellable, which is about balancing a combination of being interesting and on-trend, staying relevant to the specific project while at the same time maintaining an authentic point of view for what is appropriate to the brand DNA. ● Have special interests and expertise in subcultures of skateboarding, music, street fashion & art. Grew up loving the Southern California skateboarding scene of the mid-80s and early 90s, reading Thrasher magazine, building launch ramps and making fanzines. Involvement with skateboarding and all the Do-It-Yourself related music & art connected to it (like punk, hip-hop, graffiti & street art, 'zines, photography, record collecting, street brands & fashion) has been a strong influence ever since. Initial exposure to the avalanche of style was a huge impact, and being immersed in this stuff ever since then has shaped my overall attitudes about art and life.■ View my online portfolio at www.chadski.net
