MANAGEMENT ENGINEER (July 2004 - July 2005)- Led the implementation of a $300,000 wireless temperature tracking system for the refrigeration system within the University Hospital. Flowcharted the processes for the system and worked with multiple departments to delegate system responsibilities.- Calculated turnaround times for inpatient prescriptions and identified bottlenecks in the system.- Forecasted the impact on prescription turnaround time with the implementation of a computerized order entry system.ADMINISTRATIVE FELLOW (August 2003 - June 2004)- Led in the development of a productivity system for the instrument room in the OR when it was found that a backlog was created due largely in part to unproductive staff.- Performed a complete nursing workload analysis in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit of the hospital. Used the results to determine the number of staff required to operate the unit efficiently and estimated the impact of computerized order entry.- Performed a complete workload analysis of the children’s hospital pharmacy to determine reasons for increasing errors and near misses. Analysis found the department was understaffed, and resulted in hiring another pharmacist and reallocating workload of the employees.JR MANAGEMENT ENGINEER (May 2002 - August 2003)- Performed a workload analysis with the outpatient pharmacy. Resulted in reallocating staffing and a decrease in turnaround time for prescription scripts.- Collaborated with the operating room nurse managers to prepare the unit for implementation of new customized OR software.
