Project EngineerConstellation Energy Oct 2008 - Aug 2016Baltimore, Md, UsConstellation was a big shift in the application of my skills. I went from wellhead energy efficiency with COMM Engineering to end-use equipment efficiency with Constellation. I very much enjoyed the shift in customers and projects. At Constellation I have worked with other engineers and learned a lot about how to develop, design, finance and implement an energy conservation project. My ability to work on more projects and a wide variety of projects has been a major asset for me while at Constellation.During my tenure I have worked with the regional, federal, public housing, EME and the M&V teams. My open and positive outlook allows me to integrate with diverse teams and has given me a broad perspective on how different projects are run. To date I’ve helped complete over $280M in energy efficiency projects including two projects over $50M.By focusing on the customer's satisfaction and getting the job done right the first time I feel that I bring signficant value to everyone. By effectively managing our contracting partners and managing our internal resources effectively, I've been able to help bring in these projects. ESCo work is about energy, therms and water. But it is mostly about the relationships that you have to build and manage throughout the process of a project that ultimately gets the job done. This is where I am confident that I bring value to my projects.I have spent the bulk of my professional career to date with Constellation and have learned so much from this experience. The soft skills that I’ve developed in communication and team management have proven invaluable already and I look forward to further improvement. -
Project EngineerComm Engineering, Inc. Jun 2006 - Oct 2008COMM Engineering was my first engineering position. This was a significant moment for me in my evolution and development as an engineer. I was finally utilizing my skills to help solve real, big world problems. I was the Lead Project Engineer for design and development of the Environmental Vapor Recovery Unit (EVRU) system. I trained with the Senior PE for about a year learning the specifics of the oil and gas industry and how to properly affect change.I was responsible for initial customer consultations and design work up through and including installation and testing when required. I worked very closely with my piping designer, fabrication contractors, material suppliers, installation technicians and testing operators to ensure high quality products were delivered on schedule.I spent my time• Supervising daily operations of multiple projects in various phases of completion• Supported CEO and Senior Engineer in strategic planning of products and services for clients• Streamlined internal documentation and training for future projects and employees and wrote the design manual for the system• Designed new framework for engineering process and documentation to shorten design and fabrication cycles• Performed detailed field operations and comprehensive studies of production facilities to ensure sizing design and implementation qualityThis was one of the highest growth phases of my professional career, looking back. I learned a whole new industry in a very short period of time and was quickly allowed to take on the responsibility of designing and managing the fabrication of projects. I had a great time, learned a lot about engineering and the real world.
