I communicate and learn through drawing. Pen always at the ready, I love to study faces and behaviors of the unique people I encounter, attempt to capture the spirit of a special place, or record the details of an ingenious design solution – be it natural or built. My passion for sketching the world around me provides a rich visual ‘library’ of experiences that I refer to daily in my role as a landscape architect at SmithGroup. My art and my background in natural science afford me both creative and technical platforms from which to design and execute my client’s vision. I am a skilled collaborator, capable of working across disciplines and personalities to creatively solve complex problems. My projects and clients span the globe. I am proud of a diverse portfolio of memorable places that range from international waterfronts and dynamic urban revitalization efforts to iconic campus environments and plans for livable communities.
