Led the effort to establish the PHC Critical Care Governance Council which coordinates strategic initiative development and execution for the Critical Care programs within the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep medicine across the Piedmont Healthcare System.
Our Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep division is growing rapidly. In 2011 our healthcare system employed 6 physicians and APPs (NPs and Pas) and by the end of this fiscal year we expect to be over a 100 pulmonary, critical care and sleep providers (approximately 40 physicians and 60 APPs). Our division is structured around Centers of Excellence with each COE having a Chief and an Administrative Program Manager who work collaboratively with our physician group to build and executive strategic initiatives, deliver value to our patients and win in the marketplace. Our COEs span the breadth of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep medicine with COEs centered on Critical Care, General and Preventive Pulmonary Medicine, Sleep Medicine, Interventional Pulmonary Medicine and Advanced Lung Disease (comprising our ILD, Pulmonary Hypertension and Sarcoid populations). In addition, we have an active clinical research department averaging 10-15 active clinical trials at any given time.

In addition, we have an active clinical research department averaging 10-15 active clinical trials at any given time. Our clinical operations now directly oversee hospital and/or outpatient based services at Atlanta, Fayette, Henry, Newnan, Mountainside, Cobb and Kennestone markets.
Our professional development program oversees programs for our physicians and APPs directed at onboarding, continuing education, and personal growth and mentoring. We have a robust onboarding program for new APPs to the division which comprises a 3 to 6 month training program depending on the team being joined (critical care, pulmonary, sleep). Our division offers a 4 to 6 week onboarding program for new physicians to the division focusing on culture and integration into the team environment. Our team oversees grand rounds, journal clubs, case conferences and also offers on site FCCS course and formalized Difficult Airway Course programs.
