Supervised and worked alongside chemical and biological analysts, technologists and other scientists.Determined resources, skills and structure needed for laboratory to achieve specific objectives.Monitor and conduct formal performance review of staff; participate in hiring process.Ensures appropriate action taken that the company operates within the law and complies with SAMM and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and the relevant governing regulations covering health and safety of the company.Review the management system and testing activities to ensure continuing suitability and effectiveness and to introduce necessary changes or improvements.Develops pertinent laboratory policies and procedures and ensures their compliance.Reviews quality assurance protocols on a regular basis.Ensure that staff receives adequate training and are competent to carry out assigned work.Suspends or rejects use of equipment or methodology that does not perform to the overall company quality standard.Holds the reporting of data when the quality assurance program indicates that the quality of the data is suspect.Authorize repairs and maintenance, when required and ensure preventative maintenance programs are carried out and maintenance expenditure levels are controlled.Review and validate test results to ensure accuracy prior reporting.Prepare, review and approve (by signature) final reports, where applicable.Authorize to sign test reports.Follows up on customer's complaints regarding quality and reports findings.
