Quantifying and cataloguing vegetative fuel types at sites in Forest Management Areas across Alberta. Specifically, identifying shrubs, trees, forbs, mosses and other vegetation types, and collecting density, height, diameter and age measurements. Soil measurements, topography details, and ecosite classifications were also collected to help determine the quantity of vegetative fuel that could be consumed by wildfire. This information is used by the FireSmart and Fire Prevention sections.

Liaising with insurance providers and residents in regards to claims filed resulting from the 2013 floods in southern Alberta. Spoke with claimants to determine the extent of their coverage, policy details, and extent of damages being claimed. Spoke with insurance companies to determine the extent of coverage offered, what damages were covered and the amount compensated to claimants, so as to determine extent of government assistance given to claimants.
