I am a worker. After high school, I joined the Marines and was promoted to Sergeant faster than anyone else in my platoon. During my time in the Marine Corps, I developed the leadership, discipline, and problem-solving skills that have shaped my career. After completing my military contract, I went to college to become a teacher. I love teaching, and I am very good at it, but during the teacher strike in 2018, I realized that my standard of living would slowly decrease over time as the cost of living was rising faster than my paycheck. In 2019, I started a food truck business to complement my teacher salary. I found a lot of success early on, but the pandemic eliminated my ability to operate while my business loans still needed to be paid. I managed to limp through the following years, but eventually, I was forced to close the business. In the summer of 2024, I accepted a seasonal position as a Project Manager for Five Star Painting, and I absolutely loved it. The fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects, putting out fires, marketing, networking, and driving sales energized me. However, as the junior member of the team, I was let go when business slowed down in the fall.I really enjoyed my role as a Project Manager and am eager to continue in that field, but I am also open to any role that allows me to learn and develop new skills, rewards hard work, and provides opportunities for growth. Whether it's project management or a different path, I'm ready to take on the next challenge with the same dedication and passion that have guided my journey so far.
