Hello! I'm Chad Hembree, a dedicated performer, educator, and community leader deeply embedded in the heart of Berea, KY. My professional journey is twofold: I serve as the Executive Director of both Spotlight Acting School, LLC, and Spotlight Performing Arts, Inc. These roles allow me the unique privilege of blending my passion for the performing arts with my commitment to nurturing talent and fostering community engagement. At the Spotlight Acting School, I lead with a focus on excellence, overseeing both the business and artistic aspects to ensure our students receive a holistic education in the performing arts. This dedication has driven significant growth in student enrollment and community involvement, a testament to the collective effort of our incredible team.Simultaneously, as the head of Spotlight Performing Arts, Inc., I manage The Spotlight Playhouse, a cornerstone of our local performing arts scene. My responsibilities here extend to leading the Bluegrass Players community acting troupe, scheduling diverse events that enrich our cultural landscape, and maintaining the facility to uphold a welcoming and dynamic environment for all.Beyond my professional life, my roots in Berea run deep. I've had the honor of contributing to our community as a Berea City Councilman, a Board Member for the Berea Chamber of Commerce, and through leadership roles within the Berea Lions Club. My dedication to our town has seen me actively involved in the Berea Christmas Parade, the Berea Human Rights Commission, and the Spoonbread Festival, where I've enjoyed roles from Entertainment Director to Emcee. My educational background as a Performance Major at Berea College has been instrumental in shaping my approach to directing plays and mentoring the next generation of performers. Traveling has expanded my horizons, yet it's the strong ties to Berea and the joy of returning home that fuel my passion for making a difference through the arts.Married to Letha Hembree for 30 years, I am a proud parent to our son Mason who is attending Bellarmine University as a performance and composition major. For those interested in the performing arts, community service, or sharing experiences, I'm always open to connecting.
