I was brought in to optimize their high throughput order entry and claim processing workflow by developing a custom software solution. Over the course of 4 years, I independently drove continuous process improvement and greatly improved the efficiency and visibility of their production output, exceeding all goals and expectations. I worked closely with the business and leadership team to continuously improved the platform to meet the ever-changing business needs. After reaching a peak in business growth the company was acquired and I continued to consult with the new owner through the transition.

I was brought on by Pathway’s new owners after an acquisition to fulfil a leadership role in the organization and to oversee all IT directives. My first initiative with Pathway was to organize the migration of the company’s data center and software infrastructure. With a small team and during live operations, I successfully completed the full migration initiative in under three months, meeting all goals set for this transition project. I drove continuous process improvement across all stages of the laboratory workflow, successfully improving efficiency as the company and volume grew. I also participated in all leadership discussions and sales communication with existing and potential clients.

Working with three practicing physicians, I lead the effort to implement a new software solution that delivered a dynamic and automated medical assessment questionnaire designed to meet the Medicare Annual Wellness Visit program. I managed the entire product development effort as well as the marketing strategy and overall roadmap leading to the GTM launch of the software product to the commercial market. I managed the balance of customer feedback with business strategy to establish a clear direction for the product teams and company direction. Once the product met a point of maturity, I turned a portion of my focus onto sales where I travels nationwide presenting the efficient of the solution and potential value to many large and small medical organizations.

Designed and developed a suite of medical based software solutions including an end to end LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) from the ground up based on specific workflow and regulatory requirements in the toxicology laboratory space. The primary production version of the LIMS platform grew to support several laboratories with the primary customer growing to over 150 employee, 10,000 samples a month, with over $14 million in yearly revenue. This completely custom built platform included end to end chain of custody, equipment integration, results review assistance, HL7/EMR interfaces, and a completely automated billing workflow.Once the software platform was if full production mode we expanded our offering to a wide range of technical services including data center services, custom development, and other technology-based offerings. Interviewed, supervised and motivated 12 top level technical team members with a range of specialites to achieve optimal productivity across our technical services. Facilitated direct customer sales engagements to promote the value and efficiency of the LIMS platform and expanded technical services.

As a founding member and CIO my focus was on process and technology solutions in the small but quicktly growing company. I worked closely with industry experts and certified scientist to properly design and continuously improve a custom laboratory information management software product that would prove to offer an efficient workflow for the laboratory staff as well a platform that could keep up with the ever-changing regulatory requirement of this industry. This business grew to over 150 employees across the country with a yearly revenue reaching $14 million.

This was one of those rare opportunities where a small team of young specialists with diverse backgrounds came together with the idea to do something special that had never been done before. As the technical professional in the group, I held an integral role in the creation of this technology-based offering where we combined fundamental medical and athletic performance concepts into a safety and wellness program for the industrial worker. I owned all aspects of the technology stack from the early discovery and concept phase to the technical design, architecture, and development of became highly complex and multi-faceted software solution. After a few years of R&D and pilot studies in the field, I participated in a campaign of promotional and educational presentations to all the big players in the Oil and Gas industry nationwide and internationally.

Starting as a mid-level developer on a large team of technical professionals, I quickly made a name for myself as someone eager to learn, able to lead, and willing to speak up with ideas on any project or problem at hand. I worked directly with leadership groups across the hospital and participated in many planning and strategy meetings on high priority initiatives. In the later years in this position, I was responsible for maintaining numerous internally custom developed EMR systems and assisted in the migration from those systems to EPIC.
