Software And Systems Engineer

Englewood, Colorado, Us

OMI is a group within CH2MHILL employing 1500 employees, as an international water and waste water management company. OMI is also a winner of the 2001 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. The TSG group of OMI manages the technical operations of the facilities. Following a migration from my previous job as Software and Security Engineer, I added the development and deployment skills to the TSG team. My focus with TSG is with designing and deploying enterprise wide services, including the ability to sell the data analysis capabilities to outside clients. To achieve this goal, project management and adaptability were of utmost importance. This expansion effectively markets OMI as an Operations Consulting company and further develops the market sectors the Data Mine created. I have also focused more on the technical operations of the treatment plants, and have recieved the Operator Certification (Class D) for Wastewater Treatment, in the State of Colorado.

May 2004 - Oct 2006

Lead Software And Security Engineer

Omi, Inc.

As Lead Software and Security Engineer at OMI, my primary roll was to imagine, plan, develop and deploy mission critical software and security systems that changed the way OMI did business in penetrating new markets. Specifically I co-authored a patented system that dynamically collected data from remote water/waste facilities, generate reporting on the plant and its functions, and compare their collections and operational attributes to disparate plants across the world. This technology allowed for trends across time, region, like processes or facilities. Because of this, OMI had unprecedented abilities to bid projects with greater clarity as to the cost of operations and provide deep introspection to the state of the company with respect to performance, overhead, operational costs and regional variances. My responsibilities were also to make OMI’s security systems and management state-of-the-art. This included designing and building firewalls, routers, IDS/NIDS and anomaly systems from scratch. Also forensic analysis of attack, vectors, and data recovery were required.
