As the company grew we identified a need to create the Chief Architect position. Upon transferring into this role there were two significant projects that needed architectural and technical guidance. The first project revolved around data analytics and moving from a data cube environment into big data, data lake environment.In the data lake project, I worked with Apache Nifi and map reduce to move petabytes of data into S3. From S3 we used Redshift/Snowflake as a data warehouse and then deploy Tableau to visualize the data. The project took a couple of months to complete the MVP. Today we continue to leverage the foundation and add additional sources into the data lake.The second major project that needed immediate attention was a migration to Salesforce. The company identified Salesforce as our CRM. The project timeline was tight having completed the first version of the data lake project we were able to leverage what we accomplished in that project to fast-track the migration to Salesforce. We created custom APEX APIs to manage the flow of data from our source systems and push them into Salesforce.

A hands-on leader responsible for managing the team, solution architecture and writing code. When arriving at Great Wolf I was able to introduce the team to scrum which increased productivity and got us on a standard release cycle. More recently I was able to improve the productivity of the team further by introducing CI/CD tools which shortens the amount of time it would take to review and test code.I am responsible for operation function as well as architecting solutions. From a DevOps perspective I was able to leverage AWS in a number of ways; one improvement was to auto-scale the needs of our applications automatically. Auto scaling reduced the time developers were spending manually scaling as well as reduced overall spend on hardware (OpEx). As the company grew we were in a great position to start leveraging data to personalize the guest experience. I identified and implemented methods, in which we could store, retrieve and make decisions on this data in real time. Utilizing solutions like DynamoDB, Kinesis, S3 and Athena to bring a low cost solution that would scale to our needs over time.

Leading a team of twelve engineers working cross functionally on three different brands. Growing the leadership of existing senior engineers to enhance their skills set and challenge them to build robust, scalable and secure applications.Introduced the engineering team to agile development methodologies. Successfully trained four ScrumMaster to lead our scrum teams. Sit in on stakeholder meetings to assist the product owners with any additional background or detailed technical data.Provide weekly status updates to the executive team about progress made and any potential roadblocks encountered. Direct activities of scrum teams to ensure the large scale project progress on schedule.

Managed a local and offshore web development team. The team utilized the Zend Framework and Magento eCommerce to support the various requirements. All site promoted good Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to include Search Engine Friendly (SEF) URLS. All code was written using Zend Framework coding standards. Lead cross-functional marketing and production teams to develop Internet application concepts.
