For the past four years I have the good fortune of working with the great team at Pacific Crest Federal Credit Union. PCFCU has a fantastic organizational culture where the focus is on serving our members and the communities in which they live.Raised on a rural Oregon farm far from town, our best resource for problem solving was our own ingenuity. If something broke, you took it apart, figured out how it worked and what was necessary to fix it. Today, when seeking to understand how something works, or solve a problem, I still examine all of the pieces individually and then seek out ways they can work together effectively.Even as a child I had an interest in, and a passion for, business. At 23 I purchased my first business, a floundering health club. By the age of 27 I had owned three businesses and was leading a small, rapidly growing corporation while serving as vice chair of a credit union board. The culture of that organization was so inspiring it changed my career path.Credit Unions possess the tenants of business and finance, and a mission of helping people. I sought out a small credit union where I could experience the many complexities of a credit union at the same time. At the ripe old age of 31 I became a Credit Union CEO. I continue to have the privilege of working every day to meet people's needs.
