• Led 48-person External Affairs team and oversaw $13M budget between three primary functions: Legislative Affairs, Communications, and Ombudsman’s Office• Successfully led reorganization of the Office of Communications into External Affairs vertical, increasing consistency in messaging and outreach while reducing management redundancy• Collaborated with other executive team members to design strategies for effectively and cohesively communicating with Congress, more than 5,000 banks, and the general public• Modernized FDIC’s legislative and communication strategies by creating new personnel structures, recruiting new talent, and increasing the emphasis on digital communications and content• As a member of the Executive Operating Committee, created new initiatives to increase the FDIC’s Diversity and Inclusion efforts, specifically increasing the recruitment of diverse candidates and improving in their executive career development opportunities• Oversaw the creation of the FDIC’s First Generation Professionals initiative, a program designed to provide mentoring and educational opportunities to employees who are the first generation in their family to work in a professional setting• Spearheaded the Chairman’s “50-State Tour,” which allowed the Chairman to directly engage local community banks, state regulators, media, and community groups in over 30 states during the first 18 months of the tour
