We were on the path to realize 40-50% annual growth over 5 years.In my first year we realized a shipped order increase of over 12%, in the second year the increase exceeded 45% and continued to increase shipped orders more than an additional 20% in 2016! We also increased the utilization of equipment more than 75% and the efficiency of key projects almost 50%, bringing all of the product lines into the black despite the requisite price reductions that are inevitable. Rescaled manufacturing space, equipment and personnel by 40 percent less, while increasing output and quality results. Also rewrote procedures and designed new processes to document monumental changes to the manufacturing processes and to incorporate operational procedures. Documentation process accomplished mostly by training and monitoring of actual processes, including process improvements. Acting as Manufacturing Engineer to work with the design and engineering teams to reduce the product to dock lead time.

at VIP I worked with a highly-trained and motivated team of Precision Sheet Metal Fabricating, CNC Machining, & Welding Professionals with ISO 9001:2008 certification. Responsibility covering all shop floor activity for contract fabrication manufacturing plant. Hire, train and develop a new team of skilled machinists. Integrate existing procedures and develop new quality processes. Constantly pushing for continual improvement, looking for increases in net gains, shorter lead times using production metrics. Worked closely with aerospace, medical, communications and consumer product customers.

My responsibilities were operations management with P&L, including personnel for an ISO13485 and AS9100 certified contract-precision machine shop. Initially, tasks included creating efficient processes required for new concept development, from RFQ to testing results finalization. I established continual improvement with the objective of increases in net gains, shorter lead times, and a safer work environment. Realized several goals by redesigning processes and consulting with customers for product review/modification. Routinely met with customers to arrive at cost effective, manufacturable solutions.

I began with the company as a conventional machinist. After taking the initiative to learn the software and CNC equipment on my own time, I was soon given the role as Quality Manager. After 5 years of mastering each department, I was promoted to Manufacturing and Production Manager to oversee the entire manufacturing floor. I spent the next 10 years helping transform the company into a multi-faceted, technological showpiece. Responsible for planning and cost control to meet company goals. When our company needed to expand the customer base, my contributions resulted in a new relationships with aerospace and medical customers. I was given opportunities that allowed phenomenal personal growth. These opportunities continuously contributed to success of company. Responsibilities included the following:• Assumed role of principle product manager to provide estimating, product design, and customer support.• Established relationships with outside vendors to perform various processes in order to deliver extraordinary customer support, such as cost savings and design improvements. • Assist engineering departments to arrive at cost effective, manufacturable solutions.• Worked on company’s transition to AS9100 Certification, achieving compliance on the initial visit.

I was given an incredible opportunity to learn the trade under the tutelage of a true Journeyman-Master machinist. I learned all aspects of manufacturing from estimating to process design, to the importance of machine tool utilization. Within a few months of beginning my apprenticeship, I was given responsibilities that included onsite customer support and providing input toward product realization at customer facilities, such as VLSI, and EPT. Even after leaving for a full time opportunity, I continued as a contract machinist.
