Superintendent, Operations Engineering Manager
CurrentSuperintendent of Operations Engineering for United States Air Force Europe’s (USAFE) largest Civil Engineering Squadron. Directs and supervises 140 flight personnel through 23 subordinate civilian and military supervisors providing civil engineering customer service to 57K personnel. Directs all control measures, acquisition, storage, disposition and funding of all supplies and equipment required to support the greater Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC) mission in the sustainment of $10B of infrastructure.Prepared a $6.8M company budget, reviewed, prioritized and processes work requests while managing all logistical support for civil engineering. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinate units, sets and adjusts long-term objectives and short term priorities. Provides assignments to different functions considering priorities, work load and manpower resources. Managed construction projects and maintained facilities throughout the base from cradle to grave. Represents and defends flight functions on dealings with other units within the Wing, other organizations within the KMC with management officials and higher headquarters and with contractor personnel. Makes decisions on technically or procedurally controversial matters involving expenditure of funds. Researches and implements processes to eliminate and reduce significant productivity bottlenecks, promotes team building and improves Operations Engineering Section operating methods and/or procedures. Guided civil engineering during major strategic vision transformation and process improvement, went from a reactive organization to proactive; built the organization structure for multi-year transition while saving a projected $2M over the next 5 years.
