  I am the group leader of Meagher & Geer's Catastrophic Loss practice group. We provide forensic investigation, defense, and recovery services in the wake of complex catastrophic events throughout the United States. Our Team has handled thousands of losses including losses involving fire, explosion, structural failure, mechanical system failure, fire suppression system failure, chemical release, fuel gas, water damage, mold, odor, product failure, and other catastrophic losses and construction-related incidents. We have handled numerous multi-million dollar claims, including major industrial explosions and fires, and construction and design matters. We investigate these incidents and provide defense and recovery representation for product designers, manufacturers, contractors, fuel gas suppliers, architects, engineers, owners, operators, environmental, commercial, and industrial risk property insurers, and other similar companies. I am also an instructor and speaker on topics that concern my practice. I am an Adjunct Instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center where I present courses on evidence issues (spoliation), convergence of science and law (process engineering), and regulatory matters (OSHA and Chemical Safety Board). The courses also involve instruction of moot court trials with a focus on expert witnesses and trial examination. In addition, I serve as an Adjunct Instructor at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland where I present a course on spoliation and changes to NFPA 921, and a course on origin and cause investigation and courtroom techniques. The courtroom techniques course involves instruction of moot court trials with a focus on expert witnesses and trial examination. I am also a guest lecturer for state chapters of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) and at the IAAI International Training Conference.
