Our core purpose is to save lives by recovering organs for transplantation. Our organization has received international recognition for our success achieving that purpose. I'm responsible for the clinical operations that have contributed to that success and have been privileged to be involved in many aspects of the organization's success.The things I love about my work:-Challenging notions and disrupting the status quo. Donor management, hospital development, and even talking with families are all iterative processes. We make improvements in our processes and challenge ourselves to see where to look next. It doesn't always take sweeping changes to make big progress, but when it does, we have to be willing to roll up our sleeves.-Developing people. Probably the most important part of my job is helping people stay motivated and avoid the path of least resistance. Whether you are dealing with hospital development, working with families, or clinical/medical donor management, our focus is on optimizing every situation, not on ensuring each individual outcome.-Improving efficiency. When we utilize resources better, we accomplish more with less effort, save money, and everybody wins.-Listening... none of the things above can be done without listening to the people around you. You can see more with 20 or 100 sets of eyes than you can with one. It doesn't matter whether you like what is seen. Taking the time to understand every dimension is the only way to move anything forward.I am part of a team who serves those who graciously choose to donate life in their darkest hour, as well as those in need of organs, by making sure every organ that can be transplanted gets transplanted. What could be better?

I lead a team of nurses, respiratory therapists, and paramedics who triage patients referred for organ donation and medically manage organ donors in the ICU, working on a tight timeline to tackle the challenging prospect of maximizing the function of every organ so more organs can be utilized to save more lives.

I was responsible for technical, surgical and recovery technique training for various transplantable tissues throughout the United States and in Europe. I was responsible for managing multiple projects, developing recovery techniques for new tissues, determining medical suitability of donors, and transport logistics for donor tissues. I was also was very involved in technical writing, policy writing, ensuring regulatory compliance, and myriad other things in my time with RTI.
