Then I flipped to the client side and joined gift card e-commerce SaaS provider CashStar as employee #75 to build out marketing. We grew from ∼$10 to nearly $50M by innovating mobile payments and omnichannel experiences for Starbucks, Gap, Target, Nordstrom, etc. Our acquisition by Blackhawk Network led to Demand Generation and Global Marketing Operations leadership roles. At $1B Blackhawk, I was instrumental in driving GTM transformation following PE-firm Silver Lake’s investment. I thrived there until the former CashStar CEO tapped me to join him again upon founding the media & entertainment SaaS company Backlight.I joined Backlight as the SVP Marketing at Zype, the business unit/product line focused on digital video infrastructure. As Backlight’s GTM strategy evolved, I became the SVP of Growth Marketing for Backlight overall, adding four more product lines to my remit.
