Chad Russell is a hands-on Field CISO Sr. Engineering Manager within Oracle North America’s Cloud Engineering organization. Chad leads a team of experienced former CISO's across various industries and focuses on advising customer CISOs and personnel on security and compliance issues related to cloud, technical messaging and thought leadership, as well as providing strategic direction on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure products and services. Chad also enjoys developing solutions and is a builder at heart. Chad joined Oracle from AWS where he was a Sr. AWS Security Program Manager in the office of the CISO. In this capacity Chad was responsible for key initiatives sponsored by the CEO of AWS to be executed across both AWS and Amazon. He is a previous Cloud Security Architect with Oracle’s Global Business Units and worked with product strategy, software development, and hosting operations to re-architect legacy enterprise solutions for migration into Oracle's SaaS cloud platform -- with a focus in the following industry verticals including Communications, Construction and Engineering, Financial Services, Health Sciences, Hospitality Services, Retail Services, and Utilities. Chad has also held positions with Microsoft as an Account Technology Strategist and SAP as a HANA Big Data Evangelist. Chad began his career as a Systems Programmer with Fidelity Information Services supporting internet banking deployments in North America. As a frequent author and speaker on cybersecurity, Chad has published book and video titles with publishers including Wiley, O’Reilly and Pluralsight covering subject matter across topics such as GDPR, Ethical Hacking, Web Application Firewalls, Reconnaissance and Network Navigation, and Security Visibility at Scale and has over 70,000 subscribers to his security titles on Udemy. He is a graduate of Excelsior College’s Computer Information Systems Program, a Certified Ethical Hacker, and holds 8 Oracle Cloud Certifications as well as 10 AWS Cloud Certifications.
