Utilising my background in Psychology, I worked one-on-one with clients from diverse backgrounds to assist them in navigating the trials and tribulations they experience, as a result of life-long trauma, disability and mental illness. I serve as a role model and advocate for some clients and as a therapist for others. The role is extremely fluid and constantly in motion, meaning adaptability and vigilance are paramount. My time as a support worker has been influential in honing skills I have developed throughout my life. Finding the reward in failure and striving again despite that has been a focal point. Within a year of working as an Assistant Store Manager, I was offered the opportunity to manage my very own store. I looked forward to being able to extract the best out of my lived experience and offer those learnings to a team I was entirely responsible for.I felt I had proven my skill as a retail salesperson since I first began in Perth and was eager for the next challenge. Due to internal restructuring, I was without a direct manager for some time. This was a great time to develop relationships laterally, as I built and utilised connections with fellow managers across Victoria to seek guidance. I enjoy teaching others, as it relies largely on communicating a story. I utilised this to help train and develop relationships with the staff at my new store. I was required to interpret the messaging from Platypus Head Office and establish it efficiently for the staff and the walls of the store.

- Lead sales in shoe accessories for January 2020 in Perth and January 2021 at Knox. January is by far the busiest month of the year for The Athlete’s Foot. - Worked at multiple stores in multiple cities which displays that I adapt well to new team environments.- The Athlete’s Foot team uses a number of different administration software. Across my work experience, I have learned to use this software well.

- I was trained and competent in the use of the system Guest Centrix used to organise payments and booking from guests.- I was independently required to handle any request made by guests which varied wildly between circumstances.- Checking in with and engaging with guests ensuring they enjoyed their time at the hotel.

- Communicating information between guests and Mt Buller services- Ensuring to provide current and most situationally appropriate material to guests and stakeholders- Selling lessons and tickets to guests and informing them of current events on the mountain.- Handling refunds and disgruntled customers diplomatically.- Using RTP One to sell tickets to guests and serving large numbers of people in short periods of time.

- Across the busy Christmas period, I was required to maintain store presentation.- Being an outlet store, the price and stock were constantly moving so the store often needed swift rearranging.- I would often need to set up visual merchandising for the new releases.

-After my first season at Mt Buller, I continued my experience in customer service and hospitality. I worked during the peak periods in the brunch café on one of Melbourne’s greatest beach hotspots.

- I worked in isolated outdoor snow environments which required me to ride my snowboard to get there.- As a trusted employee I worked the large functions for the leading venue on the mountain.- I was trusted to work independently while serving coffee, alcohol whilst making small snacks.- I am an advanced snowboarder who can navigate different terrains with ease.

- I was required to handle cash, process orders, practice food safety, and cook in a high-intensity environment.- It was my personal responsibility to train new employees and monitor their improvement, which was often their first experience in the workforce.- Responsible for managing inventory and have ample experience using business administration software.- Being part of the management team, on shift I was required to lead my team of staff to ensure various KPI’s were met.

I worked at the Must bar for a year and have further improved my skills in customer service and hospitality. The job has provided me with key skills such as: multiple plate carrying, stock management coffee making, changing kegs and bartending including cocktail making. This has been my greatest learning experience and I persistently showed enthusiasm and growth throughout my time at Must Bar.
