Religious School & Family Learning teacher

I am uniquely qualified to help you/your student create a meaningful Bar/Bat mitzvah experience because I have been involved with all aspects of the process! I have been working in the field of Jewish education since 2001; 11 years as principal of a Conservative synagogue's religious school where Bnei Mitzvah preparation was an integral part. I was involved with teaching prayer and trope to student groups (pre-Bnei Mitzvah and teens), and creating and teaching interesting family education sessions on aspects of Judaic knowledge associated with becoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah (e.g. social action, exploring the Humash and Siddur, donning Tefillin). I have mentored many students in the preparation of their drash (speech), and more recently tutored students 1:1 for the recitation of their Torah/Haftara portions. In addition, since my adult Bat Mitzvah in 1999, I regularly lead services and chant Torah, haftara and megillot during Shabbat/holiday services. Finally, I planned the Bnei Mitzvah experiences for my own 4 children and have assisted with and attended many others. I am fluent in English and Hebrew, and some Spanish.

CHAIM is a travelling exhibit which can be brought to Bay Area (Gilroy - Davis) schools and institutions interested in teaching their community about acceptance, compassion and tolerance through the lens of the Holocaust. Teach Hebrew, Jewish studies

Implemented cool programs for young adults & older adults to promote social action, social interaction, and Jewish learning. Examples: Tacos, Tequila and Talmud; Shushan Saloon; Tea Time with a Maven; Israel Koffee Klatch....

Responsible for planning, implementing, and/or coordinating the youth (Prek-12th) formal and informal Jewish learning experiences. Examples include "JEWEL" - experiential electives program for 4th-7th, Mishpaha (Family) interactive programs for holidays and Bar/Bat mitzvah preparation, engaging worship experiences, and social action opportunities. Created/maintained annual budget, spreadsheets, and other organizational systems needed to keep office/school running smoothly. Managed admin assistant, staff of 10-12 teachers, teen aides, 100-120 students.

Performed all administrative tasks needs to run a 100 student school.Performed administrative tasks for the synagogue cantor.Taught both Hebrew and Jewish Studies in 4th, 5th, 6th grades.

Validation of functionality of Flow Cytometry systems using integration testing of reagents, software and instrumentation, defect regression, alpha evaluations and writing of SOP's according to ISO standards.
