Appointed as a dissertation supervisor, specialising in the role of soft skills in project and change management. Duties included setting new academic research opportunities, mentoring Masters students in their research, and assessing their findings over the course of a nine month period.

The Shell Step talent scheme is a national competition open to all students. Was placed at a local manufacturing company, Cressall Resistors. During the 3 month period took on a business improvement role - identifying, leading and implementing areas of improvement in the business, responsible for just under £1 million worth of savings to the business during that time period. These achievements were recognised by the award of UK's Most Enterprising Student in 2008.
