What I learned from the client side, I bring to an advisory role on the insurance side to ensure that companies make the right decisions when selecting various types of coverages and programs.During my legal and financial career, I have become expert at making filings from Form K’s to S1’s to make sure mistakes do not happen in the first place. I understand what to look for in SEC filings so that deals fall nicely into place and no litigation is necessary. Oftentimes insurance providers rate companies too high forcing them to pay overpriced premiums. Our reputation for attention to detail is rooted in my first job where I offered to work for free in the garment industry at age 17. I convinced a very busy and successful owner of a manufacturing business to allow me to shadow him for a few weeks and study what he did. At the time he ran a $10 million business. The first place I saved him money was in insurance because he was paying for programs that he did not need. Then I saved him money in supplies. Ultimately I became a partner and helped drive the company value up to $60 million. All of that came with risks, which I mitigated with the proper insurance.At BSD, we put in the extra hours, we take time to meet to ask important questions, and we will pit providers against each other to obtain the best possible protection against risk.
