IMAGINE IF DIVORCE instead of being the destructive process that makes it impossible to co-parent your children for the next 15–20 years, can now be a HEALING PROCESS, one in which you can hear and be heard, often as you haven't been able to for many years before.I graduated top of my class, worked at the best firms and clerked for a federal judge. But I then went through a nasty divorce and thought “There has GOT to be a better way.” I’ve since dedicated my life to that better way, protecting, defending and empowering clients when their closest confidante has become their worst adversary. I live and die with every client and bring big-firm professionalism to matrimonial and family law. In one case I was the fifth lawyer after four others failed. At my first appearance the judge told me “Counselor, your client’s got one foot in Rikers!” “Yes, I know,” I responded. “I just need four weeks to prepare responsive papers.” We returned four weeks later, and my two-hour oral argument turned the judge around showing her that my client was the “good” one and the OTHER the “bad!” We were scheduled for Tuesday afternoon on a motion. Late Friday I received a flash drive with 50MB of data from opposing counsel. I asked my client to come in for what I expected would be a few hours Saturday morning. We ended up spending all day Saturday, all day Sunday, all day Monday, and all night Monday night until early dawn Tuesday morning drafting our responsive papers. The result? The Court called us into chambers and the judge herself proposed the exact resolution my client had asked for when first walking into my office! Two clients came to me who did not want to get divorced, but whose spouses had sued them for divorce. I told them what to do and they won their spouses back!  The client who urged me to unleash “The Wrath of Chaim” got an unimaginable result when the judge sua sponte recused herself from the case and the adversary completely capitulated.Through hard work and dedication I've earned the trust and acclaim of my colleagues who say that I am “the best of the best,” “a lawyers’ lawyer,” that I have a “a near-encyclopedic knowledge of the law” and that my “ethical character is of the highest order."
