Since February 2024, from the innovation department at VRT, we have established a core AI team. This team is continuously focused on exploring new opportunities within AI developments for media and collaborates with various departments at VRT to integrate AI into our organization. My role is to investigate how AI can truly add value for the user, including both media creators and end-users. My main focus lies with AI in journalism.

As a design researcher at VRT Innovation, I outline the needs and wishes of users towards new technologies and products. I strongly believe in Design Thinking as a methodology and apply this iterative process during several stages of an innovation project, ranking from generating ideas, developing concepts, prototyping to implementation. In order to understand and engage the user in this process as much as possible, this is often paired with co creation sessions and workshops.
