John Griffith is currently with HomeFirst Agency serving as a Licensed Property and Casualty Agent. Prior experience includes over 2 years with Vanderbilt Mortage and Finance as an Accounts Manager in Collections; both are Berkshire Hathaway companies.John also worked for 2 years as the Business Manager of a local construction company and for 3 years as the Location Manager for a historic cemetery, managing all business and pre-need insurance requirements.While completing his Graduate degree in Education, John founded ChallengerDeep and Teaching the World, a global outreach initiative to provide computer-mediated learning platforms to all children and promote sustainable, ecologically-sound best practices in environmental interface and Coastal Zone management.John is a citizen of the United States and has lived in both Europe and Asia and traveled extensively to locations around the world while a member of the United States Army.Currently pursuing a PhD in Marine Ecology, John has earned degrees in Education, Business and Communications (Journalism). In addition to his academic accomplishments, John Griffith has worked as an award-winning journalist, photographer, and is a highly-decorated veteran of the United States Army, with a background in law enforcement, small unit leadership and recruiting and retention both in the US and overseas. John Griffith is also a former civilian law enforcement officer, teacher and successful business manager. A proud father of two, John Griffith lives on a small farm in East Tennessee with his wife Michelle (who is also an educator).
