Creare is an engineering research and development firm located in Hanover, New Hampshire. Founded in 1961 to allow innovative engineers the freedom to expand the boundaries of their engineering disciplines, Creare continues this tradition of innovation and exploration today. At Creare, I have managed tasks on a variety of projects in the fields of cryogenics, vacuum pumps, heat exchangers, gas bearings, and research tools for diving. As an Engineer, I most frequently am involved in fabrication coordination, assembly, testing, and high speed rotor balancing. A selection of my past activities at Creare Inc are:• Lead assembly and integration of state-of-the-art, prototype heat exchanger at the United States Naval Academy to demonstrate power generation from waste heat from a gas turbine engine, increasing efficiency by 10 to 20%.• Lead testing on high-speed rotor project, reaching a final tip speed in excess of 1km per second. • Testing of a high-efficiency 20K 20W Turbo-Brayton cryocooler for NASA’s Zero-Boil-Off hydrogen storage depot in low earth orbit, • Lead the fabrication, testing and delivery of space-qualified miniature turbomolecular vacuum pumps.
