Led and managed the program team and base offices at Republic of Central Africa and acted as the focal point external relations including cluster, partner, and stakeholder engagements. Managed program and project budgets implemented internal and external audit processes. Introduced “Management Information System” (MIS) for frequent reporting and to ensure adherence to strong financial protocols. Reviewed and redesigned the VCW administration manual. Increased due diligence by developing and implementing the fraud prevention protocol and protocols against sexual exploitation and abuse. Conducted multisector evaluations in the country to identify needs and developed successful project proposals for Health, Nutrition, WASH and Shelter sectors and secured funds from UNHCR, UNICEF, OCHA, WHO to provide assistance to refugees, IDPs, Host Communities and Returnees. Managed multi-sector projects, developed, and delivered necessary reports and implemented MEAL processes to ensure the iterative management of projects. Lead the expatriate team to conduct training and mentor sessions to develop the capacities of local staff and educate on current trends humanitarian protocols and practices.

Led the SOMS country team, managed program activities and finances. Forecasted annual KPIs and raised necessary funds to implement programs. Worked closely with ministry of health Sri Lanka’s vision 2020 program. Lead the school children vision care program, vision screened more than 1.5 million school children island wide and provided more than 40,000 custom made eyeglasses. Trained more than 4,000 teachers on vision screening processes using “E-Card”. Introduced the social venture program to ensure that every individual have access to custom made eyeglasses under fair price policy. Introduced the annual referral protocols for the school vison care programs. Work collaboratively with “Sight for Life” program of Vision to 2020 office to design and manufacture the mobile eye surgical unit to conduct cataract surgeries. Developed necessary activity and finance reports and proposals. Worked with private sector organizations to encourage them to invest in vision care programs through their CSR activities. Led the country office dissolution process adhering to necessary in country processes and protocols.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) - Youth Project was designed to strengthen the resilience of undeserved rural communities in Sri Lanka to face disasters and emergency situations through providing professional emergency response training for young individuals and encouraging volunteerism. Lead 33 volunteers from 11 countries to develop the CERT-Youth project Concept. CERT-Youth project won the AEIF-2013 competition and currently adopted by the National Disaster Management Center to train youth and School volunteers all around Sri Lanka

Conducted a research to learn and understand the management and development activities of emergency medical service system; and shared the experiences in Emergency medical service system development and responses in Sri Lanka. Job-shadowed the emergency medical service Administrator of the Washington county emergency medical service department. Observed the policy and protocol development process. Participated actively in managerial meetings and committee activities. Observed the work in Coordinated Care Organizations EMS work group sessions, state emergency medical service committee activities and Oregon Medical Officers Board activities.

Volunteered with Galle district branch of St John Ambulance Sri Lanka to implement the St John Cadet program at Schools and also to expand the knowledge of Basic Life Support skills among school children while motivating and encouraging youth to actively engaging youth in volunteer activities. Expanded the St John Ambulance Galle District Cadet program from 8 schools to 42 schools and engaged more than 2000 youth in volunteer activities. Introduced annual district camps, sport meets, competitions and appraisal programs to encourage youth to actively participate St John Ambulance Cadet Program.

Oversee eye clinics conducted in all parts of the country. Coordinate with SOMS roster of optometrists, sponsoring corporations, government and other groups on clinic logistics. Track and maintain stocks. Assist Treasurer in preparing and maintaining financial records and reports. Assist board in proposal writing and research. Provide support for other general administrative activities and tasks of the organizationAchievements• Conducted seven eye clinics which served more than 5000 people from low income families.• Designed the prescription data base.• Launched the school screening program at southern province of Sri Lanka and donated 2000 prescribed eye glasses for school children.• Supported the initial stage of international e-fundraising efforts.• Managed and updated the SOMS web page and Facebook page.

Designed and developed the Emergency Medical Technician training curriculum and published the text book and skill DVD which are currently considered as the national standard for training in Sri Lanka. Trained more than 2,500 emergency medical technicians and 10,000 first-aiders to respond in emergency situations. Developed 9 pre-hospital care systems in 9 localities to provide ambulance transportation during emergency situations. Managed 4 field hospitals which provided care for more than 400,000 IDPs during the post war IDP situation in Sri Lanka. Provided technical support and trained Emergency Medical Technicians to implement the Pre-hospital Care System in Cambodia.

Created course curriculum and delivered training in basic life support, advance life support, emergency medical techniques, emergency management, emergency preparedness & emergency planning. Conducted trainer of trainer programs for St John volunteers. Provided and organized continuous professional training for volunteer and full-time trainers. Manage trainer portfolios at national headquarters. Marketed St John Ambulance training potential customers in Sri Lanka for fundraising.
