I have over 20+ years’ experience in the airline cargo & commercial aviation industry, in the fields of customer services, cargo reservations, cargo sales & marketing, airport cargo operations & handling. I have held positions in the capacity of assistant cargo manager, cargo manager, senior manager, general manager, head of aviation - business development (cargo & passenger), head of cargo – Qatar Airways (GSA Sri Lanka) and currently holding office as the head of cargo for SriLankan Airlines Ltd – the National Carrier of Sri Lanka. My experience and expertise are in airline cargo management, key account management, business administration, business planning and development, client relationship and team management. The foundation to my airline career was laid with the skills gained while working for Saudi Arabian Airlines handling cargo imports, cargo reservations and airport cargo handling supervision. I gained experience and knowledge in sales, marketing, negotiation and presentation skills, while working with world class airlines such as Lufthansa Cargo, Continental Airlines, British Midland, Vietnam Airlines, Qatar Airways and currently with SriLankan airlines. I’m privileged to work with multinationals and varies organizations at my current tenure with SriLankan airlines managing 48 countries with over 100 destinations, overseeing 400 plus direct staff and over 40 general sales agency companies representing SriLankan cargo. I have had the opportunity to educate myself on different cultures and business ethics as a result. I have always been keen in handling customers in different levels and paying attention to detail. I have worked throughout my career to maintain an attachment to the core of my business. I believe myself to be a committed individual who strives to exceed the expectation of my clients, and my organization.
