I was fortunate to be part of Stile Education’s Gender Diversity in Tech internship, an initiative designed to empower young women, non-binary, and transgender individuals to break into the engineering industry. This internship provided extensive training, mentorship, and hands-on experience that helped me develop from a novice coder to an active contributor to the StileApp.Technical Growth & Contributions:- Demonstrated rapid learning and progression by quickly mastering new technologies and contributing as an active member of the engineering team within the first 3 months, despite having no prior coding experience.- Utilise technologies such as Typescript, React, Ruby SQL, Buildkite Pipelines and Terraform.- Led and developed multiple full-stack customer-facing features and web pages, collaborating closely with design teams and key stakeholders- Joined the Platform Team, focusing on infrastructure and tooling.- Optimised Ruby linting and formatting jobs in CI Buildkite Pipelines, reducing CI time by 20 minutes.- Developed Fauxprod Buildkite deployment pipelines for self-service deployments and automated testing; automated daily purge functions using Terraform.
