I am a physician with a strong interest in hospice and palliative care. I have worked on a national level with organizations that influence policy and others that provide more direct, local, patient care. I believe there is a tremendous lack of understanding among both the public and most physicians about what hospice and palliative care have to offer, and that lack of understanding is a major factor in limiting access to these important services.I enjoy public speaking and teaching on clinical and administrative topics related to end-of-life care and aggressive symptom management. In addition, I have done extensive work as an expert witness in hospice and pain management related cases.In my spare time, I enjoy performing as Dr. Bruce, providing family and childrens entertainment with magic, puppets, ventriloquisim and balloons. I am currently learning to play a tenor saxophone
