Throughout my career, I have focused on building and implementing effective risk management frameworks that ensure the safety and soundness of the organization while enabling growth and innovation. I have a track record of driving change and delivering results, working collaboratively with teams across the organization to identify, assess, and mitigate risks. My career spans over two decades, during which I have held senior leadership roles in risk management and finance. My expertise includes management of credit risk, operational risk, market risk, technology risk and enterprise risk. I have a strong understanding of financial instruments, including derivatives, and I am well-versed in the latest industry regulations and standards such as Basel guidelines and IFRS.As a strategic thinker and effective communicator, I am able to translate complex risk concepts into clear and concise messages that resonate with stakeholders at all levels. I believe in leading by example, fostering a culture of risk awareness and accountability and encouraging continuous learning and development. I am passionate about creating a risk management culture and impart my knowledge and experience with the industry participants by conducting training programs periodically, facilitated by center of banking studies - Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
