In this role I continued my work from Kleer Semiconductor as an Embedded Software Engineer. I continued to maintain the firmware for the PIC24F microcontroller based 30-pin iPod/iPhone adapter, got more exposure on how to use standard lab equipment like oscilloscopes and power sources, developed a driver for the ALPS rotary encoder for the Kleer embedded firmware, got some basic exposure to RF filter tuning used in the Kleer wireless audio IC. In addition, I acted as the technical lead and supervised a team of two in SMSC India on verification activities of the Kleer embedded firmware. The purpose of the Kleer audio ICs are to transmit audio wirelessly using a propriety protocol. During my work period my group was involved with developing software for Long Term Evolution (LTE) base stations. LTE is the 4G cellular standard drafted by 3GPP. My role was to develop and investigate issues of the Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM) portion of the 4G base station software. The software was developed using C.
