Payroll Specialist
Current- Processes biweekly payroll for Wisconsin employees- Inputs payroll data from time sheets, pay adjustments, and maintenance changes into the computerized (Lawson) system for processing of paychecks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. - Reviews payroll edits, identifies, and correct errors- Sets up employee accounts to include but not limited to garnishments, insurance payments, donations, etc.- Summarizes and reconciles all employee time sheets. Investigates discrepancies in time allowances (benefit hours). Inputs employee hours into timekeeping system, ensuring accurate recording of benefit hours for management and employee use- Prepares and maintains life insurance and long-term disability billing reports to ensure the accurate and timely payment of premiums. Prepares and submits life insurance death claims to the insurance vendor to ensure their timely payment- Processes Medicare reimbursements according to departmental procedures- Updates and maintains all required reports and payroll information, to include labor activity, general ledger, chart of accounts, activity number listing, etc., ensuring accuracy and timely availability- Prepares the yearly holiday schedule and the biweekly shift schedule, ensuring accuracy and timeliness- Ensures the completion of all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.- Maintains technical competency and remains current in technology and changes in the industry- Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards- Performs all department functions to include but not limited to knowledge, skills, and capabilities in the absence of the Payroll Supervisor-Completes special projects as assigned
