This included 40 US and International offices, an onsite corporate data center, multiple cloud platforms such as Azure IaaS, Azure Active Directory, Okta, Office 365 and Salesforce leveraging custom developed applications over hybrid on-prem and cloud networks in support of 35,000 remote part-time field workers.My area of expertise covered network security, network architecture, design & implementation, vendor management and telecom expense management. My time was shared between consultation and support of external customers of the MEDHOST EDIS application and responsibility for the design, implementation and support of the MEDHOST corporate network, network security and VMWare Virtual environment.MEDHOST EDIS is a distributed application with many services and roles spread across multiple servers with a dedicated client in each of the ER rooms. I found myself interacting with everyone from the local IT staff to Medical Directors, VP's and C-Level executives during Pre-sales, Implementation and Post-sales processes.In non-technical jargon, this meant the network was an incredibly important aspect of the success of our product and I was responsible for helping our clients at all stages of the Product Life Cycle whenever there was an issue or concern. I found this external focus to be the most challenging, yet most rewarding part of my work. My internal responsibilities offered me growth in several areas that I was excited to embrace including network security, firewalls, VPN technology and VMware ESX. -
Network Design Engineer IiPerot Systems/Multimax Nov 2006 - May 2007Round Rock, Texas, UsI was brought in as a member of a small consultation team for a specific Perot Systems Account comprised of a large, multinational Tax & Accounting Corporation. The goal was to document, evaluate the existing network infrastructure, then propose a complete redesign of the global infrastructure from the Data Center to all of the corporate offices. Our team developed the logical and physical Vizio standards used to document all of the Clients networks. Our proposal was evaluated by Perot Systems and even adopted by other Client Facing network teams. From there, we provided due diligence of the Clients Network Infrastructure and completed diagrams of the entire existing infrastructure. Based on our findings, a study was done to determine what legacy infrastructure could be decommissioned and what areas of the network required upgrading. Our proposal was reviewed and accepted by the client, allowing Perot to extend the contract another 2 years. -
