I have 8 years of experience in supervising and conducting ecological field studies throughout the eastern United States for transportation, resource extraction, and other land development projects in order to assist clients in meeting the requirements of federal and state laws such as: the Threatened and Endangered Species Act (ESA), 404, 401, and 402 processes. I specialize in managing large scale projects from acquisition to project completion. I am also very proficient in ArcGIS. I am trained and experienced in a variety of field study techniques, including surveys for both aquatic and terrestrial federally threatened and endangered species. My areas of professional expertise include: habitat suitability assessments; surveys for bats, mussels, small mammals, as well as other listed species; stream ecology, wetland delineations, jurisdictional determinations; and technical report writing. My field, natural history, and identification skills include a variety of taxa and disciplines including woody and herbaceous plants, amphibians and reptiles, bats, and freshwater mussel identification. I have been certified and have received training in multiple facets of environmental consulting. I have received The Army Corps of Engineers 38 hour Wetland Delineation and Management Training as well as the 16 hour Wetland Permitting Training from Richard Chinn Environmental Training, Inc. to conduct wetland delineations and jurisdictional determinations. I have also been certified in Freshwater Mussels of West Virginia: Life History and Identification from Janet Clayton, and am also on the Ohio Division of Wildlife Approved Mussel Surveyors list. I have been certified by the Ohio Department of Transportation in Ecological Training and am also a PADI Open Water Diver. I annually attend workshops and meetings to further expand my knowledge of ecological and regulatory processes.
