Some of my duties are as follows: I am responsible for the execution and operational excellence of the entire store. I have actively participated in the personnel decisions of team members, including, but not limited to, employee selection, training, discipline, termination and development. I have provided departmental direction and daily supervisory oversight to Logistics and Merchandising Team Leads, and to Merchandising and Receiving Team Members to ensure execution of weekly merchandising, marketing and receiving plans. I am responsible for holding team members accountable for compliance with established sales, safety and security practices and procedures in conjunction with local, state and federal regulations. I ensure the completion of departmental zoning and adherence to department, store and Company standards. I am responsible for supervising the execution of various assignments as delegated by the Store Director in Playbook. I participate in floor walks with Regional Vice President, District Manager, and Store Director and creates an implementation plan to make changes based on feedback provided in store walks. I am responsible for auditing firearm sales in compliance with federal and state law, including properly completing ATF Form 4473 and conducting background checks, and signs off as final approver. I provide supervisory oversight to the team member talent lifecycle including hiring, onboarding, developing and coaching team members.

During my career at Family Dollar my store was up 13% YTD which was the number 1 store in the spotlight district; which is the worst district in the state (Birmingham, AL). While increasing sales for the year, I also reduced my shrink to a total of 3.00%; which was the 2nd best in the district for that year. I was asked to attend M.A.P, (Management Advancement Program), in Atlanta, GA in June 2018. I was 1 of 8 District Training Store Managers selected in the region, (250+ Stores), to receive this training. Through this training I not only learned the company at a single store level, I also learned how to manage at a multi-store level. As the District Training Store Manager some of my weekly tasks include: Leading conference calls, calculating payroll for the district (14 Stores), checking up on the monthly planner; as well as going to stores and helping out if they are behind on anything mentioned above. I have a strong leadership repertoire which shows by having the lowest turnover percentage within my three year time span. During 2018, I coached three new Store Managers, and 11 Assistants. Since being with Family Dollar I have been asked to managed three different locations, two in Birmingham and one in Huntsville.

I was directly over nine departments including: Hardware, Lawn & Garden, Seasonal, Sporting Goods, Appliances, Mattresses, Electronics, Floor Care and a signage team. My team consisted of 25-30 associates; as well as four leads. My responsibilities included training, observing, and coaching all associates to meet and exceed in all metrics; with Protection Agreements and Credit Applications being a large focus. I also handled all dealings with the warehouse, delivery and installers, as well as maintaining excellent relationships with each. Hiring candidates through the recruiting system ; Brass Ring. Other processes included but not limited to: out of stocks, non-productive inventory markdowns, display scans, ad sets, monthly sales planner, hold daily meetings with all associates to discuss sales and metrics from the previous day while also reviewing the objective for the day while putting emphasis on metrics needing primary focus. Within the first year, lawn tractor sales increased over 50% with more than 150 additional units sold over the previous year.
