I am passionate about the arts. I believe access to the arts makes our communities stronger.Theatre, music, and dance have been the constants in my life. Now my life's work is to make theatre happen, and to nurture the next generation of collaborative, compassionate, critical-thinking artists. As founder of Staged!, I wear many hats: grantwriter, team-builder, curator, music arranger, teacher/coach, producer, advisor. My left brain and right brain work together in harmony and get a daily workout. In 20+ years of working in the non-profit arts, I have dealt with every personality type, budget size, and on- and off-stage catastrophe imaginable. I am not easily rattled.I love big ideas. But more than that, I love mapping out tangible steps to making that plan a reality. I like to surround myself with fellow dreamers who understand the need to do the Actual Work, and come equipped with elbow grease, empathy, and a genuine love for what we do. I am passionate about connecting people to organizations and resources and "next steps." My favorite thing is helping young artists grow into their potential. If you are passionate about arts education, arts programming, or contemporary musical theatre, I would love to connect. You can reach me here: chanda@stagedpdx.org or @stagedmusicals on social media.
