What a time to become a Nurse? 2019 I became an LPN after working as a CNA for 12 years. I finally became a Nurse then Covid came! My first Nursing position, before Covid, landed me in Geriatric care, which I love and quickly became a Charge Nurse. I decided to expand my knowledge and accepted an offer to work in a methadone clinic, while working here Covid arrived. The public was in chaos and there were so many questions that I wanted to work somewhere that may help with all of that. I then took a position with the County Health Department as a Supervisor of Vaccine Managers, I took teams of people to local facilities during outbreak with follow up testing weekly to track out breaks. Once the vaccines came out I managed teams to go into the community with the transport of the vaccines. I also worked with our communities Day Cares tracking Covid as well as providing information to assist during outbreaks.During that time, I decided I wanted to help where I was needed by taking contracts in areas that were in great need for Nurses. I accepted a contract as a RCF/Covid Nurse with a Correctional Institution for Women. I am also working towards my RN currently and looking for a Contract in the El Paso area.I love being a Nurse.
