Dr. Chanda Nicole Holsey is a passionate Public Health Specialist with decades of progressive leadership experience in the nonprofit arena. She comes with a proven track record of accomplishments in health education, health promotion, writing successful grant proposals, program evaluation, programmatic growth strategy, and high- level partnership creation. She has over 25 years of results- oriented practical experiences working with local, statewide, and national agencies to implement effective programs addressing health disparities across various populations.In addition, Dr. Holsey is the founder and principal of HALO for Families, LLC, a public health organization established in 2010, that collaborates with other agencies to develop and implement programs and initiatives that improve the lives of families and children. Her organization aims to do this by identifying, developing, and promoting high quality, relevant resources that are child-focused, family-centered, research-based, and culturally and developmentally appropriate. Dr. Holsey also serves as a contributing faculty at Nova Southeastern University, Health Sciences Department, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She is driven to serve, and volunteers on several professional boards. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Jack and Jill of America, Inc.She has authored three children's books for military families. She can offer a unique perspective on the topic of difficulties with family separations that are long term, as she is the wife of an enlisted sailor and the mother of two beautiful daughters. Her personal motto is to “walk with wisdom”. She is married to Eric Holsey, and has two daughters, Savannah and Erin, and a Jack Russell/Dachshund mix named Tweety.
