I am a registered nurse with with 30 years’ experience working in a variety of clinical areas and specialities including ITU, cardiology and medical assessment units. My ward based work has included diabetes, liver failure and liver transplant, surgical wards and surgical assessment units, theatre and recovery. My experience also includes investigative procedures, both invasive and non-invasive, such as gastric endoscopy, colonoscopy, cystoscopy, ERCP and bronchoscopy, Doppler scans and urology assessments. I also led the development of new services at both the Royal Free Hospital and Darenth Valley Hospital.I carried out nursing telephone triage via NHS Direct, where I also held the position of Clinical Practice Development Coach and Trainer. I have trained staff to use the Pathways system and prepared them for their merger with 111 providers. I have also utilised Adastra, Cleo and System One. Previously a Senior Sister managing a medical ward at Medway Maritime Hospital, I am now a Clinical Safety Navigator at the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
