I have dedicated the last 21 years of my work serving those in need in public service while managing grant funded programs that served adults and youth with overcoming barriers to employment through training, up-skilling and professional development. Westside Works was proudly founded in the historic Vine City neighborhood in 2014. Many Atlantans are familiar with the largest and most notable project that was supported from its inception, the build-out of the Mercedes Benz Stadium whereby residents received training and credentialing in construction trades that led to employment. More than 700 residents have graduated from the program, placed into full-time living-wage jobs, and have collectively earned more than $20 million in wages for themselves and their families. Served as Supervisor for the Enrollment and Retention Teams at WorkSource DeKalb. Responsibilities included managing staff, approved all WIOA (Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act) applications for program eligibility, ensured follow up and retention services were completed timely, new employee trainings on policies, internal processes, special projects and one stop operations assistance.Served as county lead for SCEM project with CareerRise/United Way. This regional project successfully designed a uniformed enrollment process for the local Metro Atlanta Regional workforce boards. Established healthy relationships with community service providers, employers and non-profit organizations to support the needs of jobseekers. Monitored and provided career advisement and case management to over 200 DeKalb County residents within the WIOA program. Project Manager for Workforce Wednesday Event (WFW); WFW was designed to connect DeKalb County residents to WIOA services, eligible training providers and employers in one centralized location. Last career expo attracted over 300 DeKalb County attendees and over 100 employers and community service providers.
